“Having a detailed and customized training plan was a huge relief in wondering if I was doing what was needed to be physically and mentally prepared to meet my goal.”

At age 52, and with a year of running under my belt, I decided to tackle my first marathon.  I had no real idea what to expect with the marathon or what training would be involved.  Thankfully, I had the opportunity to work with Coach Grant to create a training plan based on my fitness level and goals. Having a detailed and customized training plan was a huge relief in wondering if I was doing what was needed to be physically and mentally prepared to meet my goal.  Coach Grant provided practical advice and feedback along the way as well and made adjustments as my training progressed.  When building the plan, Coach Grant took into consideration my starting fitness level, marathon goal, family and work commitments, and other races and group runs I wanted to participate in during the training block.  This is something you won’t get from an online cookie-cutter training plan.  By the end of the training block, I can honestly say I was in the best shape my life—bonkers! Coach Grant’s plan included challenging workouts that tested both my physical and mental endurance and gave me the confidence to know I was ready to go at the start line.

I beat my sub-4 hour marathon goal and felt great (at least as great as you can feel after running 26.2 miles).  I’m looking forward to working with Coach Grant to train for my next marathon.
